| Are you interested in learning about other countries and cultures? Do you enjoy working with people? If so, then contact us today! OCEAN (a non-profit student exchange program) is currently seeking representatives in Valdosta and surrounding communities to screen and select volunteer host families for international exchange students, ages 15-18. Students are placed with these families and attend local high schools for a semester or academic year. Area representative responsiblities include, but are not limited to, the following: 1 - Interviewing potential host families in their home and completing the required paperwork. 2 - Contacting the references provided by the potential host family. 3 - Acquiring written acceptance for the student at a local high school. 4 - Providing the host family with an orientation to prepare them for the student's arrival. 5 - Maintaining monthly contact with the student, host family and school, as well as completing evaluation reports.
